SBHGC Courts Newsletter Spring/Summer 2023
Greetings Members, Friends, and Guests! As the weather gets nicer you will see more activity on our courts. Please come join us!
• Our 2023 Courts Kickoff held on Sunday May 21 was a huge success. A crowd of forty came out including a few of our talented golfers who also play pickleball at a high level. Very much appreciated are Crissy Betlam, Ted Hagberg, Bob Zeman, Chuck Deichmiller, Matt Hoffmann, and Matt Cuvelier who helped facilitate fun all level pickleball games. Thanks to our members and guests who attended and participated. Ron Dyson, our tennis pro, graciously directed tennis play. Also, thanks to those who bought raffle tickets. Proceeds of this and all other court events will go toward court maintenance and equipment. The committee is excited to announce the pending purchase of windscreens with our club logo for the west fence of the courts.
• One of our goals is to get more SBHGC members on the courts. Golf season is short so it may be your top priority. With that in mind, the committee offers evening drop in tennis on Monday night at 5, pickleball on Tuesday at 5 plus pickleball on Sunday at noon to accommodate golfers and those who cannot play during the day. There are also other days and times on which there is open play. Please check the SBHGC website for the tennis and pickleball calendar. The committee encourages all levels to come out and play. We use a scheduling app called Team Reach which is easy to navigate, tells you when the drop in tennis and pickleball happens, whether or not there are enough players, allows you to email others in the group, and make announcements. Please contact Bruce Farrington at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and he will send you instructions to access Team Reach.
