Join Sodus Bay for great lakeside golf with a great group of people. If you live in the Rochester/Syracuse area and are looking for a golf club to join, come out to Sodus Bay. Memberships are now available at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, the ideal club for anyone who's serious about their golf and wants to enjoy it in a splendid lakeside setting with a great group of members.
The course was founded in 1924 and has a rich history -- Robert Trent Jones, the famous course architect, was the first club pro as a teenager. The course was redesigned by Geoffrey Cornish, another famous architect, in 1969. It has been maintained carefully ever since, and it's a remarkable golf course today.
The course is characterized by its rolling terrain and the wind whipping off Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario which makes every round different. There's water, sand and sidehill lies that present a challenge to top notch golfers, yet there are four tee positions, so the course can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer.
Members enjoy great golf throughout the season and a number of special events for men and women. Tournaments are held throughout the season, with league play also available. Many of the tournaments are accompanied by special meals, such as the Men's 4-Man breakfast tournament in April.
There are 270 members today and Sodus Bay is eager to add additional members to the group. There are a variety of family and individual membership programs available, including special reduced prices for young golfers, from 19 to 35.
